Computer Science Principles introduces students to the foundational concepts of computer science and challenges them to explore how computing and technology can impact the world. More than a traditional introduction to programming, it is a rigorous, engaging, and approachable course that explores many of the foundational ideas of computing so all students understand how these concepts are transforming the world we live in.

Semester 1 Personal Finance
Lights, camera, action... Multi Media introduces students to digital audio/video editing and broadcasting. Students will capture, compress, edit, and manipulate digital media using specific computer software. Explore techniques in media management, editing tools, titles, transitions, animations and special effects. Be involved in producing and directing live and prerecorded projects. Students’ will gain foundational knowledge and skills in digital video/audio production allowing them to become successful in multimedia technologies. Students will learn basic accounting principles, bookkeeping skills, and methods. The double-entry system of keeping records where debits and credits are used is the focus of all record keeping taught for proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. Advanced units are also devoted to business and payroll accounting. The course is designed to teach the necessary skills to achieve success in both high school and beyond. Introduction to Business focuses on the role of business in the lives of individuals, consumers, workers, and citizens. The course provides an overview of economic systems with emphasis on the free enterprise system. It explores entrepreneurship, human resource management, international business, government’s role in business, technology, and legal and ethical issues in business. “Science Around You" will dig deeper into topics that may get glossed over or left out of traditional science courses. This course is for the future historians at Huntley Project Junior High.

United States history for the future historians at Huntley Project.

Over the course of this school year, students will read a variety of literary texts, including novels, short stories, and poetry.  In addition, special emphasis will be placed on multiple styles of writing. A full-course syllabus will be distributed to the students during the first week of school.

Students will develop skills in Web site design, development, troubleshooting, editing, and maintenance. Students will gain computer knowledge and the skills to help them become proficient users of Adobe Web Designing Software. HTML and Adobe CS design products including: Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks. Students will also be involved in the maintenance and design of the Huntley Project Schools Web site. This course provides students with computer knowledge and the skills to help them become proficient users of Microsoft Office Applications: features of Word 2013, Excel 2013, Access 2013, and PowerPoint 2013. In addition, students will be introduced to desktop publishing elements of the Adobe CS software collection. These elements include Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
